The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis

TOPICS: The Imitation of Christ has timeless teachings - the book was written for its time - focuses too much on suffering -

Question: Beloved Jesus, I have been reading The Imitation of Christ, by Thomas a Kempis, and would like you to comment on the relevancy of this book in the context of the Teachings that you are bringing forth at the present time.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It is a wonderful book, and Thomas a Kempis was truly one of my messengers. There is so much timeless teaching in the book that it is highly relevant even today.

One of the main topics in the book is that everyone can commune directly with God. This is the exact same message that I am trying to present on my website. LINK Obviously, this is no coincidence. We of the ascended masters have been trying to get people to understand that same message for thousands of years. In the Age of Aquarius, it is more important than ever that people understand this message, because in the new age people have a greater opportunity to commune directly with God than ever before.

When reading the imitation of Christ, keep in mind that the book was written six centuries ago. It was written in and for a predominantly Catholic culture. Therefore, there were many things that could not be said in the book, because they would go too far beyond church doctrine. At the time, this would have led to persecution of the author and have caused many people to be afraid to read the book. In fact, back then some people considered the book to be far too radical. Some Christians still do.

Also keep in mind that the book was written during the so-called Dark Ages. It was a time when life was much harder than it is for most people in today’s western world. Therefore, the book tends to focus more on suffering and on life’s hardships than is relevant for today.

Nevertheless, the book is an example of how one person can raise his or her consciousness and serve as a messenger for the ascended masters. It is a wonderful source of inspiration that can help anyone commune with God.

Webinar times and last call to sign up

2020-05-29

For practical reasons, we will not be selling access to the webinar after midnight CEST Friday, May 29th, so if you are planning to attend but have not yet purchased the webinar, please do so before then.

Apparently there has been some confusion about the time difference, so I wanted to clear that up.

The times given for the webinar are based on the time in Copenhagen, Denmark, which is on central European summer time (CEST), which is UTC +2.

The easiest way to figure out the time difference between your location and CEST is to search for time zone converter, or use this link:

https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20200529T070000&p1=69&p2=235

Enter your home town first, then enter Copenhagen and the program will give you the time for both locations so you can figure out the difference.
